| Santhosh Sivan, the internationally reputed cameraman and film maker has directed his first film in Malayalam Ananthabhadram, a psychological thriller adapted from Sunil Parameswan’s novel.
The cast has Pritviraj, Manoj K.Jayan, Kalabhavan Mani, Kavya Madhavan and the Bengali beauty Riya Sen in a pivotal role. Ananthan (Pitiviraj) is a US returned who comes to his village to fulfill his grandmother’s last wish of lighting the lamps in their family temple. He sees Bhadra (Kavya) and falls in love with her.
Manoj K.Jayan plays Digambaran a black magician who practices witchcraft and does everything evil. Chemban (Kalabhavan Mani) is blind and his sister is Bhama (Riya Sen). Digambaran uses Bhama for his evil deeds and tries to possess her. How Bhama breaks his celibacy and puts an end to his evil deeds form the rest of this chilling thriller.
Says Sivan: “It is not in the horror genre and is all about transmigration linked to a mythological story rooted in Kerala culture and traditions”. The songs tuned by M.G.Radhakrishnan are chartbusters and they are shot brilliantly by Sivan. In one of the songs he has paid tribute to the renowned painter Raja Ravi Varma by using his painting as a motif.
Santhosh Sivan's camera, Sreekar Prasad's editing,Kannan’s re-recording and background score, effects by Raja , Sunil’s sets, Sathish’s costumes are the highlights. The producers are Manian Pilla Raju, Ajaychandran Nair and Raghuchandran Nair.
