Within the sci-fi adventure WALL-E lies an artistic truth: that Pixar's track record remains impeccable.

This movie-within-a-movie is Ben Stiller's most ambitious production as a director and contains some of the biggest belly laughs of his career.

The magic in the jeans, and in the bond that linked the friends who've shared them over the years, seems to have faded a little.

It makes for a reasonably fun if generally forgettable story, at least in terms of the grand-opera standards of the live-action Star Wars films.
