Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has been honoured with the Celebrity Mum Of The Year award.

She said it was a ‘real honour’ to win the Bounty Celebrity Mum Of The Year 2009 Award, which was voted by the public.

Marsh is mother to David, 14, and Emily, 11. The kids are from a previous relationship. "It is a real honour to get this award. It is nice to know I have got a lot of support out there, it has been a really difficult year,” the Mirror quoted her as saying.

"I have been a single parent in the past and I have had struggles so hopefully people still think I have done the best by my children,” she added.

Meanwhile, the actress – who plays Michelle Connor in the ITV1 soap – has reconciled with ex-Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas after they split last month.

"Yes, we are back together, Jamie has got a son of his own and he is a very good father but he can't win Celebrity Mum Of The Year," she said.

Kym, 33, has had a stressful time over the last two years. Her marriage to former Eastenders star Jack Ryder broke down last year, while newborn Archie Jay, her child with Jamie, 29, died shortly after his premature birth earlier this year.
