The Madras High Court has stayed the release of Namitha’s Jaganmohini till Thursday October 16.
Alagappan, a Chennai based distributor had approached the HC that he had to get dues from Jaganmohini producers Murali Cine Arts to the tune of Rs 12.6 lakhs.
The producers had earlier made the Srikanth-Sneha starrer Boss which Alagappan had distributed on MG basis for Rs 40 lakhs. He also gave an additional Rs 4 lakhs as deposit. The film bombed and the producers never cared to return his deposit.
So Alagappan approached the court to recover his deposit which along with interest works out to Rs 12.16 lakh, after Murali Cine Arts failed to settle his due at the time of release of the film.
