Director Raj Aditya, who has done films like Ishtam and Pourudu passed away today (March 21) morning. He was found dead in the hotel room that he was staying and police suspect the death as a case of suicide.

Incidentally, his new film Malli Malli is releasing today and the irony is that the hero in this movie decides to live and fight back, after trying to attempt suicide.

Raj Aditya whose real name is Rajakumaran Thambi is the son of Sreekumaran Thambi noted lyricist, director, producer and scenarist in Malayalam who has done lot of memorable films with all top actors. Raj was a child artist in many Malayalam films before he joined noted director Priyadarshan as an assistant.

Raj had directed his first film Ishtam with Vikram Kumar (of 13 B fame) who is also a close friend. Said a shocked Vikram: “I spoke to Raj last week and he was upbeat about Malli Malli and its release. He is like a brother to me and I am yet to recover from the shock”.
