PAROUSIA (pronounced Paroosia), initially formed by vocalist Bryan (Thermal
& a quarter & Angeldust), drummer Praveen (Molotov Cocktail) and guitarist
Naveen (Molotov Cocktail), ably supported by Daniel aka Bobby on bass and Sudesh
on rhythm guitars, came into existence in Jan 2002. The original lineup then
disbanded when Praveen and Bobby moved to Chennai. A metamorphosis in 2003 with
the band ‘Fire Blended Coal’ with vocalist Ranjith (Still Waters)
and his brother Rateesh on drums resulted in a new Parousia line-up with Bryan
playing the bass and Britto and Naveen on guitars. Jason completed the line
up on keyboards a little later. In January 2004 founder member Bryan left for
further studies in the United States and was replaced by Abhishek.
The band is strongly influenced by the music of Extreme, Dream Theater, Uriah
Heep, Al Jarreau, Mr Big, Europe, Journey, Pat Methney, Incubus, Deep Purple
& Toto. |
