Sonam made her onscreen debut with Sanjay Bhansali's Saawariya in 2007. The much-hyped film vanished from theatres in less than a week. But Sonam's effervescent screen presence didn't go unnoticed.

In her next release, Delhi-6, Sonam plays a struggling singer and is paired opposite Abhishek Bachchan. The film is directed by Rakeysh Mehra
