The big fight between SRK and Farah
IndiaFM  | Monday, 10 September , 2007, 10:31

If you thought that all was hunky dory during the shooting of Om Shanti Om, then you got it wrong. Here’s the good news and the bad news.

The bad news is that Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan got into a terrible fight on the film's sets. The good news is that this was strictly for the camera! Farah makes a special appearance in her second directorial venture, which releases on November 9.

So what's news in that? After all, the entire Hindi film industry—from Amitabh Bachchan to Amrita Arora—will be seen in special appearances in this Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal and Shreyas Talpade starrer!

Well, the difference here is that Farah won't be playing herself. Instead, she enacts the role of a junior artist.

Laughs Farah, "Well, this is the irony we wanted to bring about. Imagine me playing a junior artist in the film. In fact, I am seen along with Shah Rukh in the opening sequence of the film itself."

And how exactly does it go? Says Farah, "Shah Rukh and I are shown pulling each other's hair. It's a mad-mad scene."

Two real life super celebrities and friends fighting with each other; well it can't get more ironic than that. "That's true. The scene has turned out to be really hilarious because Shah Rukh's character even asks me if I thought I was the director of the film,” says Farah. “At this I reply that if I had been, I would have already thrown him out of the film.”

Talking more about the other artists who make an appearance in Om Shanti Om, Farah says, "The special appearances are not just restricted to celebrities. In fact, right from the cameraman to the assistant directors to those who have worked behind the scenes—everyone will be seen in Om Shanti Om."

Coming back to Farah's appearance in the film, this is not the first time that she has faced the camera.

Earlier, in Main Hoon Naa (2004), she was seen playing herself when the credits rolled. Prior to that, she also made a blink-and-you-will-miss-it appearance in Shah Rukh's Kal Ho Na Ho (2003). Nevertheless, this will be the first time ever that she will be seen enacting a character.

"Well, don't expect an extended appearance," warns Farah, "It is fun, yes, but alas, it lasts for just 10 to 20 seconds!"
