aziz says Tanks for the appreciation. The first thing is to listen and appreciate good music, only then the newcomer will have a good understanding of music. And later on one must try to emulate, and then one needs a talim (a ustaad or guru). You cannot be a good singer without a teacher.

aziz says It is 25 years and certain ghazals have become associated with me like kaise saboon pao, ghazals in Umrao Jaan, daddy, aiena, etc. Tough to say which is my favourite.

aziz says I spend time with my family, friends and listening to good music. Dinners at a restaurant or or just chilling out in front of the sofa. I listen to old masters when iam on the treadmill.

aziz says I did not imitate anyone, and I do not think anyone imitates me. I prefer the student to learn and form a style of his own.

aziz says Mehdi Hassan, who is my guru, my ustaad. I like singing along with ustad rashid khan classical vocalist. We spend a lot of time singing together.

aziz says It is a wrong perception. I recently sang in Jodhpur to an audience of a few thousands. Ghazals are as popular as they can be.
