Sonu refused to sing vulgar lyrics
By IndiaFM.com  | Wednesday, 13 October , 2004, 10:25

Sonu Nigam has refused to lend his voice to a song from an upcoming film stating that the lyrics were downright vulgar. The film in question is David Dhawan's next venture starring Salman Khan while the lyrics are penned by Sameer.

When Sonu read the lyrics which went something like 'Shaadi ki pehli raat… dhakka maara… doodh piya' etc… clearly implying its double meaning, he informed music director Himesh Reshammiya that it was too embarrassing for him to sing the song.

Sameer however denies that he has written the song though the female version of the song is reportedly already recorded.

It seems as if director David Dhawan is turning back to his double meaning genre of vulgar comedy after delivering a clean chit comedy in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. David Dhawan's early films were quite infamous for their double meaning songs, which included 'Sarkailo Khatiya' (Raja Babu), 'Maal Gaadi Tu Dhakka Laga' (Andaz) and other unmentionables.
