Everytime an actress dons a bikini it makes headlines. Pipe-down, there were several yester-year actors who carried off the bikini with much sex appeal.
First up was Nutan who slipped into a swimsuit for Dilli Ka Thug in 1958. This was followed by Saira Banu in April Fool and Vyjayanthimala in Sangam. Probably the biggest proponents of the two-piece from back then areSharmila Tagore, Zeenat Aman, Parveen Babi and Dimple Kapadia.
But somewhere down the line, the way they paved got blocked by prudes. But now, we have the new ladies of tinseltown clearing out the rubble of boring wardrobes and bringing back sexy beach wear on to the screen. Welcome to the age of the bikini!
