The Cielo Executive is brought to you by Daewoo Motors which was the first car-manufacturer in Asia to receive IOS 9001 certification. The car was the first truly international car launched in India. This when launched was the preferred mode of transport for all CEO s and top executives as it was definitely a cut above the cars available then. But today sitting in the big car segment and facing competition from the Lancers and Astras Daewoo s move to slash prices aims at making it more competitively price in this heating up segment.

Engine and performance:
The Cielo Executive is powered by 1.5 litre SOHC engine with 4 cylinders. The engine gives a best output of 80bhp at 5400 rpm. A high torque of 13 kgm at 3200 rpm allows for smoother and better acceleration. The multi-point sequential fuel injection dual spray injectors and a state-of-the art electronic engine management system lead to optimum fuel efficiency and effective emission control. The 1.5liter MPFi engine delivering 80 bhp giving the Cielo one of the highest power to weight ratios in its class along with superior torque. The maximum speed that one can attain in a Cielo is 170 kmph and the 0-6 run is done in 6.5 sec. The sophisticated Multi Point Fuel Injection technology controlled by a computer driven Electronic Control Module (ECM) gives an extremely smooth running engine with a high level of fuel efficiency and low emission levels. The Cielo Executive naturally complies with the strict Euro I & Euro II emission control norms.

Driveability:
The Cielo holds onto a prescribed course is good and does not require much intervention. The braking and cornering ability is also good. The engine is quite and smooth and mid range performance is excellent thanks to an extremely flat torque curve across the entire range.

Interiors:
The Cielo is spacious but not as spacious as the others in the market. The Daewoo Cielo having undergone price correction is now actually a value for money product. It offers a comfortable accommodation for five people gives a decent performance and improved fuel efficiency. What may be held against the Cielo is that the looks of the car which are ageing fast and the fact that it is facing competition from cars that are contemporary by international standards. The Cielo meets the norms proposed for emission in the year 2005. (Euro I & Euro II compliant).
