The expectations from this book were enormous given how well Rowling had ended Half-Blood Prince. The book lives up to its expectations and more. A lot of characters are done away with and this, in fact, a plus point that helps focus on the central theme.
The beginning, as with most Harry Potter books, is very dark. This sets the tone for the entire book. From here, the sequences keep rushing at a great pace and it becomes just about impossible to put the book down. The best sequences in the book are the discoveries about the Deathly Hallows and Godric Hollow.
The finale though takes the cake. Unbelievable imagination. Easily one of the best sequences of all the books put together. The ending seems befitting for a series that is predominantly read by kids. The deaths in the book maybe a bit of a shock, but fit nicely into the narration. The characters being brought back from the dead have been done so in a very believable manner. I didn't like the epilogue though and thought it was clichéd. All in all, a great read. A fitting finale for a series that will be remembered for many years to come.

Harry Potter & the deathly hallows is by far the best of the lot. Simply because all questions and doubts are satisfactorily answered in the last edition of the series. J K Rowling puts an 'imperius' curse on all her readers in last book—they just can't put the book down. But, sob, sob, no more Harry Potter books to come.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is a truly wonderful book in which Harry destroys six of Voldemort's horcruxes (refer to half blood prince) only to find that he is the seventh one. He also finds out about the Hallows—the wand of destiny or the elder wand, the stone of resurrection and the cloak of invisibility. In this book, Mad Eye Moony, George Weasly and about 50 others die at the battle of Hogwarts. Severus Snape turns out to be a good man. |
