Short Term Capital Gains:
|
A short term Capital Asset is that which is held by an assessee for LESS than 36 months immediately preceding the date of its transfer.
However, in case of equity / preference shares in a company/units of UTI/debentures etc, if they are held for LESS than 12 months are treated as short term capital assets.
