Kannada film is going National and international. ‘Haseena’ bagged three national awards and ‘Shanthi’ a single character film received certificate by the Guinness Book of World Record. Three Cheers to Kannada filmdom!
But Kannada films are facing a peculiar problem of scarcity of theatres to screen films. The demand and supply is affected by hits and super hits. With films like ‘Aptha Mithra’, ‘Akash’, ‘Aham Premasmi’ ‘Shastri’, ‘O Gulabiye’ and ‘Gowramma’, ‘Jogi’ occupying the major theatres in Bangalore, new films are waiting to be screened for Diwali are in the queue.
Now the films ready for release for Diwali waiting for theatres are Pandu Ranga Vittala, Shivrajkumar’s Asoka and Anna Thangi, Upendra’s Uppi Daada MBBS, Sudeep’s Nammanna and My Autograph, Kamal Hassan’s Rama Shama Bhama and Jaggesh's Mata.
Nobody can predict which film will finally make it to the theatres on Diwali day.
