Cleveland Aradhana is supposed to be one of the major Indian classical music festivals being held every year in North
America. It was first celebrated in the year 1978. The year 2005 is the 28th year of the Tyagaraja Aradhana.The Aradhana
committee also holds music competitions at the Cleveland State University. Prizes are given in the form of Tambura prize and a
concert slot of one hour by the deserving person on the final day of the Aradhana on April 3, 2005.
This year, many artistes of
repute are slated to give concerts at the Cleveland Aradhana. The concerts will begin on March 26 with a Mangala Nadaswara
Isai by Seshampatti Sri Sivalingam and his team. Later on, a group singing of Pancharatna kritis will take place. It will be
followed by a flute concert by Dr.N.Ramani and a vocal concert by Aruna Sayeeram in the evening.
The other artistes who are
slated to participate in the Aradhana include Chitraveena Ravikiran, Sudha Raghunathan, Sikkil Gurucharan, Gayatri
Venkatraghavan, Sashikiran, O.S.Tyagarajan, P.Unnikrishnan, Neyveli Santhanagopalan and Smt R.Vedavalli. |
