Specialization helps not just to horn your skill in the chosen field but also to scale new heights. A specialist, however, does not stop with that. He pines to acquire multi-skills. And, Ghatam Suresh is no exception. He is today an accomplished percussionist and has regaled the audience not just within India but abroad as well. Ghatam Suresh is now turning a vocalist.

Ghatam Suresh is formally set to enter the world of Carnatic vocal singing on February 24,2005 with his maiden vocal concert (Arangetram) in Chennai. It will be a full two-and-a-half hour concert.

Though Suresh is well known for his extraordinary proficiency in handling the percussion instrument ghatam, he has been learning vocal music from P.S.Thyagarajan, a disciple of the famed GNB. Shri Thyagarajan is known more for his teaching skills.

Ghatam Suresh may have played many concerts in his life thus far. Yet, vocalist Suresh is set to put his best efforts for his maiden concert. A seasoned artiste makes his debut, it appears.
