Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekahra Reddy today announced his govenrment
would distribute title deeds and 'pattadar' pass books to all beneficiaries of
the 'Land distribution programme' on November one to coincide with 'Andhra Pradesh
Formation Day.' According to a release here, Dr Reddy said the government had
distributed 4.37 lakh acre of land to the poor in three phases.
Title deeds for three lakh acres of land would be distrbuted to the poor. With
this, the beneficiaries could get bank loans to cultivate the lands regularly.
Stating the government would establish 'Sheep Markets'in districts to promote
sheep farming and encourage Self Help Groups(SHGs) to set up chicken and egg
sale counters in villages, he said divisional and district mobile diagnostic
laboratories will be established as part of strengthing the Animal Husbandry
Department.
Alleging that a new trend of 'credit sharing politics' was taking place in
the state even for schemes taken up by the government, Dr Reddy urged the Opposition
parties to allow the poor to get benefits from government schemes before claiming
'credit' for them.
