Dunmarga in Ranjani is sung with involvement and clearenunciation with swaras. A sweet rendition of Meenalochana of Shyamasastri in Dhanyasi sustains interest. The dissertation of Shankarabharanamwith perfect alignment to sruthi is absorbing. Its alapana by both theartiste and the violinist have prayogas that do command attention of therasika. The neraval and the swaras in rare ragas like Revagupthi,Madhuvanthi and Surya address both the mind and the heart.A composition,Vasantha ninaivu sevaikku, in Shivaranjani set to adi talam is full ofgrace and poise.The thani avarthanam for the pallavi is compact with fullof laya expertise.The violinist's touches on the stringed instrument hasits own sensitive cadences.-Contributed by a music lover
