T.M. Krishna has once again given us an interesting CD , to elevate our moods,to present to us classical music in itsunique style. His great asset is hisvoice. His voice is suited to classical music, especially his style of music.His voice allows him great versatility when he presents quick brigas andsangathis. The flexibility of his voice makes these brigas and sangathis soundas they should and also make them impressive. His voice also shows no strainwhen he sings in the higher octaves. His voice also suits the classical styleof music very well. His style is also commendable. Be it raga rendering,singing krithis, or presenting swaras, he makes it a point to maintain all theclassical values. His imagination soars high during raga rendering and he stillis in perfect control of his voice. He brings out the essence of the raga inthe rendering. He also shows good padantharam.If there is a drawback, it is theloudness of his voice, which makes his music jarring at times. It hidessubteleties and takes away the melody which can be maintained if he tones doenthe volume a little bit. The rashness in approach takes away the youthfulflavour and makes him sound older than he is. All this apart, the CD is veryinteresting.- vidya
