Swagatham Krishna produced by the Indian Record Manufacturing Co. Ltd., India, features Oothukkadu songs. The songs arerendered by Smt. Sudha Ragunathan, one of the prime disciples of Padmabushan Sangeetha Kalanidhi, Dr.M.L.Vasantha kumari. Sudha herself has received manyawards such as Amudha Isai Vani , Yuva Kala Bharathi, Isai Peroli,Ugadi Puraskar and alaimamani.This cassette is ample proof to show that she indeed deserves these awards. She is supported by orchestra conducted by Vazhuvoor . R. Manikkavinayakam. Every song has a bit of orchestra music preceeding it. First comes Sri Vignarajam Bhaje, in gambiranattai set to Khandagati taalam. Following this melodious song is Maragatha Manimaya inArabhi ragam, set to Adi taalam. This song is handled expertly by the eminent vocalist. Next comes Needhan metchikolla vendum inragam Sriranjani set to Adi taalam. This has been rendered with strongemotions. Kanna varugindra neram, a kavadi chindu, comes next and ishandled as well as it can possibly be. Swagatham Krishna, set to Adi taalam, follows gloriously. Madhura Madhura, in Atana, set to Adi taalam and VenuganaRamana in Thodi set to Misra chapu are indeed wonderful to listen to. The cassette ends with a wonderful Thillana in Surutti set to Adi taalam. The cassette is sure to make the listener feel elated in spirits.- Vidya
