The musical duo, D.Seshachary and D.Raghavachary, better known as the HyderabadBrothers, have inherited a rich musical heritage, as they come from a family ofmusic connoisseurs. Apart from being highly complimentary, their voices blendwonderfully when they sing together, sounding like one, though there is a markeddifference when they sing separately.The cassette is of Tyagaraja Krithis. It begins with a short piece in the ragamMayamalavagowla , followed Tulasi Dalamulache set to Rupaka taloam. Thesong is rendered well. Neraval and swarams are presented at Saraseweruha.The next song is Brochevarevare in Sri Ranjani set to Adi talam. Both thevocalist and the violinist present small pieces in the ragam before the song.There are swarams by th e vocalists in this song also. Next comes a ragarendition by the vocalist and the violinist in the ragam Mandari. This is aprelude to the song Paraloka Bhaya set to Adi taalam and is melodious.Detailed neraval and swarams are presented in the song.Side B starts with a detailed presentation of the ragam Harikambodi by thevocalist followed by the violinist. The song selected is ?nduku Nirdaya setto Adi taalam. Swarams have been included here also. It ends with a thaniavartanam (Mrudangam and Ghatam). Next comes Ennaga Manasuku?in the ragamNeelambari set to Adi taalam. The cassette ends with the song Shobane inPantuvarali set to Rupakam. The accompanying artists are Peri Srirama Murthy onthe Violin, Srimushanam Raja Rao on the Mridangam and Vaikom Gopalakrishnan onthe Ghatam.- vidya
