Ksetra is produced by Charsur Digital Work Station. This cassette consists of kritis and viruthams in praise of Lord Venkateshwara. Well-known Carnatic musician and vocalist T.M.Krishna has made the album an outstanding one with enormous usage of gamakas, niraval and kalpana swaras. It also contains a good mix of melody (raga), rhytm (laya) and bhava(expression).
Side A begins with the Tyagaraja kriti “Terateeyagaraada” in the raga Gowlipandu. This is followed by the sloka “Dayaashatakam” of Sri Vedantha Desika in Todi Raaga. Then comes the kriti “Sri Venkatesam” composed by Ramanathapuram (Poochi) Srinivasa Iyengar. This is also sung in raga Todi. T.M.Krishna has made extensive use of gamakas and swaras in this kriti.
Side B starts with the Annamacharya kriti “Alarulu” in raga Shankarabharanam. This one flows melodiously into the ears of a listener. Next comes the “Shankachakra” of Dikshitar in raga Poornachandrika. After this, there is the rendition of Virutham (Pasurams) from Divya Prabanda like “Unneru Selvathu” composed by Kulasekara Perumal and sung in raga AnandaBhairavi, “Verupu Yendru” composed by Tirumazhisai Alwar and sung in raga Bilahari and “Agalakillen” is sung in raga Hamsanandi composed by Nammalwar. The kriti “Tirupati,” composed by Prurandaradasa in raga Sindhubhairavi is well presented. And, the album ends with the Mangala slokam “Sriyakanthaya Kalyana”.
