A recent publication named 'Purandaradasa Kirtanai - 1' is truly a boon to Dasa devotees. Compiled and edited jointly by violinists V N Padmini and Jayalakshmi Srinivasan, this book lists 18 songs in traditional ragas, that have been carefully selected from an older publication named 'Sri Purandaradasa kriti shataka' It's main aim is to reach out to non Kannada people also, as this is obvious from the fact that its swara rotations and original sahityas are interpreted in 3 different languages in Kannada, Tamil and Sanskrit, with meanings in English. This publication for which DR. N. Balamuralikrishna presents the foreword, is reasonably priced at Rs. 35/-, copies are available at the Indian Fine Arts Society.
