Have you ever wondered that what is common with the art of car driving, Vedic Astrology and the NASA Space Science?

These three areas though appear to be quite different from each other- but they might have many things in common! Could we explore the same with your permission?

What is common between Car Driving and Vedic Astrology?

Suppose you have to reach railway station or airport- and you have booked a cab/taxi. Now the question is what kind of driver would you prefer?

Case - a) A driver who knows simply how to drive and help you reach airport- that is what we call “hands on” driver. That is, he just knows how to drive with practice or a routine work.

OR

Case-b) A driver who not only drives you to the airport/railway station – but obeys traffic rules better, follows the least noisy or less crowded route and also treats you with courtesy.

That is a person who not only has practice of driving but also knows what he is doing consciously. That is he is aware of WHAT he is doing and WHY is he doing so?

Which kind of driver would you prefer? - You would obviously say b)? Correct!!!

Now compare this situation by replacing the driver with a Vedic astrologer:)- which kind of Vedic Astrologer would you prefer??? - An astrologer with simply hands on practice or an astrologer with hands on practice and along with understanding of what he practices- he knows WHAT he is doing and WHY he is doing so. Obviously, I am sure you would prefer the latter one.

Now the next question is, Why? The reason is obvious, that the solutions/remedies/predictions that you get from the astrologer of type-B) are more chances to be correct and solve your problems on a long-term basis than the type B) one.

What is common between Vedic Astrology and Space Technologies?

Now we would agree, Space Science is a “science” by definition. Now why is it a science?

It has a model (theoretical) which can be expressed in the language of mathematics- with verifiable results – that is based on the model certain predictions can be made and the same verified. Had the predictions made not been correct in most of the cases- mars finder would have never reached mars at all!!!

(A simple model example: Human life could be divided into 1) infancy, 2) youth, 3) middle age and 4) old age and 5) may be death- based on the current situation any one, say he is a youth- we could more or less safely predict what could be his next stage- say middle age.)

Now if we look at Vedic Astrology- it is claimed to be a Super Science- that is ranked much beyond the science.

So it is quite natural- that it should also have a super model. A model much beyond the scientific model? Correct. These appeals to common sense? Yes, it does.

So based on this simple model of Vedic Astrology (VA)- we should be able to predict exactly or nearly exactly - on what should be the outcome of a particular Yoga or combination. Correct!

Now if we explore where is Vedic Astrology being practiced Currently?

It has ancient texts (Like Brihat Hora shastra…etc), with rules of interpretation spread across the texts – and the over all state of affairs may be far away from what we would all a model.

But in modern times we have authors like Sri Raman and many others who have systematized and simplified the knowledge in the ancient texts to common mans understanding level. This simplified form brings it closer to a model.

But yet we don't have any systematic model (mathematical I mean) existing for any system of VA to my knowledge. With scientific cross verification of the results to prove the effectiveness of the model.

If such a model existed – most of the predictions or phenomena should be explainable from it and whatever cannot be explained should be able to include it in the model by further modifying it to accommodate the results, which cannot be explained.

So the key is astrology – if it is a super-science- is that it cannot be just a collection of facts. It has to be based on certain operating principles reflected by the core model . The new researches would be adapted top the deal for further improvements.

Also the astrological models explain of WHAT would happen for a particular planetary combination- it does not talk about WHY does so and so happen. For a NASA satellite to mars the WHAT and WHY – both exists.

So some where the WHY for Vedic Astrology has been lost completely and WHAT needs to be systematized more.

That is where the goldmine is- that is where the challenge is!!!!

Brief Overview of the possible Model:

Just like one could create any music/symphony by 7 basic notes- similarly by 7 cosmic rays as discussed in Vedic Astrology and the variants created by signs/constellation/Houses- any phenomena could be explained.

Planets transmit certain kind of cosmic energy – and the space points (Zodiac) becomes the transmission points of this energy. How the various rules came to fore to find benefic or malefic or why mooltrikona sign decides benefic or malefic better- etc could be explained based on the energy which flows in each sign and the kind and quantity of energy that flows in.

Energy of Moon:

Say for example placement of Moon in Saturn's sign and in 1 st house, and aspected by Jupiter- could make moon a “different” kind of energy transmission point, than being placed in a different house and being aspected by say Mars. All this could be put into rules and presented mathematically.

So going this way any kind of complex interaction could be understood based on this model.

Dasha Predictions:

Say any dasha prediction in year 2008 may take complex interactions of various planets/houses/signs into place-

The complex rules could be reduced by some simplifying assumption (without much loss of accuracy) and a computer could be programmed to weigh and do the predictions much easily. (That is the Dasha results depend on – placement, lord ships, transit, then other interactions- If we are able to put the relationships properly - any computer should be able to make predictions fairly reasonably).

The role of Intuition and Reason

There is a saying that astrology is by intuition. I don't refute this claim. But the next question is that, where does the intuition come from?

It comes from the subconscious mind and may be the super-conscious mind. Correct

INTUTION = SUB-CONSCIOUS + SUPER-CONSCIOUS MIND

It is this subconscious mind only most of the astrologers are able to tap- and this mind is programmable by better conscious training. That is a model-based approach.

That is better and more generalizatble the model would help one to have a better intuition. That is a model based on clear cut approach - should be much better able to train our subconscious minds than - simple by rote.

The Future of Vedic Astrology in 21 st Century:

In the 20 th century we witnessed the phenomenon of offloading astrologer with calculations from him and giving I to the computers – so that he has to concentrate and only on predictions.

Now the trend in 21 st century could be offloading the astrologer mostly of the predictions by fine-tuning the predictions . And making learning astrology absolutely based on sound mathematics principles.
